Dynamic tribute band Brass Transit embodies the spirit of Chicago

19. Brass Transit

On Thursday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m., top Chicago tribute band Brass Transit will perform at the Fredericton Playhouse.

Brass Transit consists of eight of Canada’s most in-demand musicians and singers with a common love for the greatest jazz-rock group of all time. This dynamic, crowd-pleasing, studio-tight Chicago tribute band features world-class horn players, a rocking rhythm section and vocals stacked sky high.

The band includes veterans of Hall of Fame rock and soul acts like the Drifters, Sam and Dave, Aretha Franklin, Ben E. King, the Marvelettes, Frankie Valli, Mary Wilson, Martha Reeves, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Del Shannon and the Mamas and the Papas. Local audiences may recognize Juno-nominated lead singer Neil Donell, known as “Canada’s most recorded voice,” who led Fredericton-based band Redeye in the 1970s.

This performance will transport audiences back to the freewheeling days of the ‘70s with all the hits from Chicago’s golden age, from “Hard to Say I’m Sorry” to “If You Leave Me Now.” With energy and precision, Brass Transit truly embodies the spirit of Chicago.

Tickets for Brass Transit: The Musical Legacy of Chicago are available through the Fredericton Playhouse box office by calling 458-8344, or online at www.theplayhouse.ca.
