Director of Programming

Fredericton Playhouse Inc., a charitable non-profit organization that manages and develops a 709-seat performance venue, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Programming to join our team.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Programming is responsible for the ongoing management and development of the organization’s portfolio of programs (its flagship Spotlight Series, Kidstage, School Programs, and various community outreach programs), including artist selection and engagement.

They are focused on the organization’s success in its roles as (1) an arts presenter and (2) a community agency that promotes wider access to artistic experiences. Their appreciation for the performing arts and the impact they can have on individuals and community life drive their daily work in delivering programs in a local context.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of curation/programming and execution within a multidisciplinary performing arts series or festival context.

The ideal candidate:

  • is a strategic thinker, an influencer, a natural negotiator and a calculated risk taker;
  • demonstrates strong resource/financial management, organizational, research, business technology, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • thirsts for learning, discovery, and personal development;
  • enjoys a significant business travel calendar and a flexible schedule (including evenings and weekends).

We offer a competitive salary based on experience and training. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, the starting salary range for this position is $50,032 to $60,040 annually.
