Comedian James Mullinger has taken Canada by storm since moving to Saint John in 2014. He’s appeared on CBC’s The Debaters, sold out hundreds of venues across Canada and produced three seasons of his own television series. This marks his long-awaited debut solo standup performance at the Playhouse, and it promises to be a memorable one, full of brand new and classic material.

Prepare for an evening of laughter, spectacular put-downs and familiar friends as Dorothy, Sophia, Rose and Blanche reunite for this lovingly hilarious live tribute show. This performance will have diehard fans and newbies rolling in the aisles with laughter, thanks to the timeless brilliance of The Golden Girls.
God is a Scottish Drag Queen
Imagine God, dressed in a floral power suit, comes down to Earth to skewer everything from Justin Bieber to the Pope. That’s the premise behind award-winning Canadian comedian Mike Delamont’s show, God is a Scottish Drag Queen. This unforgettable two-act comedy of biblical proportions has won more than 18 “best of festival” awards, and has broken ticket sales records across the continent.

Steven Page with Symphony New Brunswick
A former lead singer and songwriter with Barenaked Ladies, Steven Page is known for his dynamic, physically exuberant performances, his powerful tenor, quick wit, and an arsenal of songs that span the gamut between humour and pathos. In this special show with Symphony New Brunswick, Page will perform both Barenaked Ladies hits, as well as his own original music, all accompanied by the orchestra.
Manitoba Chamber Orchestra
The Manitoba Chamber Orchestra tours widely, commissions often, embraces a diverse repertoire and collaborates regularly with the world’s leading soloists. Their roster of some of the finest orchestral musicians in Canada will feature Haydn’s Symphony No.45 and Mozart’s Symphony No.29, as well as the premiere of a violin concerto by JUNO award winner Vivian Fung.

Prisoner of Tehran
Motus O Dance Theatre creates and performs works that have inspired and engaged communities of all ages and backgrounds. Prisoner of Tehran is a synthesis of dance, theatre and storytelling featuring a spoken word component by Marina Nemat, who describes the two years she spent as a political prisoner in Iran as a teenager.
Written by and starring Dora Award-winning playwright Cliff Cardinal and produced by Native Earth Performing Arts, Huff is the wrenching yet comic tale of Wind and his brothers, caught in a torrent of solvent abuse and struggling to cope with the death of their mother. With his signature biting humour and raw, vivid imagery, Cardinal expertly portrays over a dozen characters in his captivating solo performance.
Musician and actor Chase Padgett returns with a curious tale of fingerpickin’ fury, following the story of a mysterious acoustic guitarist who appeared out of nowhere 40 years ago, conquered the music industry and then vanished without a trace. The stories and songs in Nashville Hurricane unfold into hilarious rants on love and music, a compelling tale involving the dark side of show biz, and blazing guitar work you’re sure to rave about.
Justin Flom, Magician
Minnesota-born, Las Vegas-based magician Justin Flom captivates audiences everywhere he goes. Born into a family of magicians, Justin has toured throughout North America, and has created magic for stars like Lady Antebellum, John Legend, Nick Jonas and more. Justin truly has the ability to entertain anyone, anywhere!
Over the course of their notable career, Canadian family band Leahy has secured a place as one of the country’s most highly regarded progressive folk-roots bands. The three-time Juno-winning group combines piano, guitar, fiddle and strong vocals with pulse-raising rhythms, compelling storytelling and infectious melodies for an unforgettable live show.

Canada’s Ballet Jörgen presents Coppélia
Coppélia is one of the world’s oldest surviving ballets and is the best known and most performed comedic ballet. It takes us into the mysterious mind of Dr. Coppélius, a lonely and disillusioned toy maker who wishes he could bring his dolls to life to find his perfect bride. Emotional and captivating, it is one of the best balletic representations of fantastical storytelling the world over.
Gadfly focuses on studying, researching and creating movement at the junction where urban dance, jazz and contemporary styles collide and tune together. Artistic Directors Ofilio Portillo and Apolonia Velasquez are captivating dancers, maverick choreographers, and most of all passionate professionals. Collectively, they are committed to increasing the visibility of street dances.

Luke McMaster & Ian Sherwood
Formerly one half of Canadian duo McMaster & James, award-winning singer-songwriter Luke McMaster has shared the stage with the likes of Randy Bachman, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and more. An in-demand songwriter with multiple credits and collaborations with such global superstars as Rihanna and soul music icons like Felix Cavaliere of the Rascals, McMaster’s first love has always been singing, performing and connecting with his audience.
Halifax-based singer-songwriter Ian Sherwood is a rising star in Canada’s folk-pop scene. A musician, storyteller and constant creator, Sherwood has released five studio albums. Sherwood’s live performance thrives on intimacy. From theatre shows to large festival stages across the UK, US and Canada, his persona is irresistible and completely destroys the fourth wall.
Classic Albums Live performs Queen: A Night at the Opera
Classic Albums Live presents the greatest albums of the ’60s and ’70s live on stage — note for note, cut for cut. No costumes or look-alike theatrics at these rock recitals, just pure musicianship. A Night at the Opera is Queen’s fourth studio album and features hit singles like “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “You’re My Best Friend” and is widely considered by music critics to be one of the greatest albums of all time.
Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Royal Wood has established himself as a true musical talent. He is continuously evolving and honing his musical craft — maintaining an unmistakable identity while uncovering and reinventing his sound.
