Newfoundland-based trio The Once brings poignant performance to the Playhouse

by on October 3, 2016

On Thursday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m., Newfoundland-based folk band The Once will perform an intimate yet powerful show at the Fredericton Playhouse.

Armed with bouzouki, guitar, mandolin and banjo, The Once creates music inspired by their Newfoundland roots that comes from a thoughtful place. Thanks to powerful vocals and expert instrumentation, this trio is a perfect blend of voice and melody, consisting of Geraldine Hollett, Andrew Dale and Phil Churchill.

Sometimes funny, sometimes melancholic, and always poignant, this up-and-coming band has built a fervent following thanks to their impressive live show. The winner of several ECMAs and Canadian Folk Music Awards, The Once draws huge crowds and receives glowing reviews wherever they perform.

In addition to this performance, the Playhouse invites you to enhance your evening with a pre-show Experience More! Traditional Newfoundland Dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Meal tickets for this tasty Newfoundland feast are sold separately from performance tickets – contact the box office to book your spot.

Tickets for The Once are available through the Fredericton Playhouse box office by calling 458-8344 or online at
