Culture Connect Fredericton brings cultural sector workers together

by on February 12, 2016

The city’s second Culture Connect event, a networking and learning opportunity for Fredericton’s cultural workers, will take place on Wednesday February 24 from 3-5 p.m. at the Fredericton Playhouse.

The event is open to anyone who would describe themselves as working in cultural and creative sectors in the Fredericton region. It builds on the first Culture Connect Fredericton event which took place in August, and was a major success, attracting 100 people.

“This is a great opportunity for our community’s cultural workers to come together and develop as a community of practice,” says Tim Yerxa, Executive Director of the Fredericton Playhouse. “It’s important that we not only build stronger ties within our sector, but that we collectively recognize our day-to-day effort as a significant positive contributor to the region’s health and economic vitality. A healthy cultural sector is important to population growth and community vibrancy, which is key to economic prosperity.”

The event will include networking activities and discussions along with short presentations from the Fredericton Playhouse, Solo Chicken Productions/the coop, ArtsLink NB, and Fredericton’s new Cultural Laureate Ian LeTourneau.

A full schedule and registration information is available here.
