On Thursday, February 18 at 7:30 p.m., Woody Holler and his Orchestra will bring their unique western swing style to the Fredericton Playhouse.

Hailing from rural Manitoba, Woody Holler started out yodeling at an early age, accompanying old cowboy tunes. He went on to fall in love with jazz, and later trained as an opera singer. Drawing from this eclectic experience, Holler has developed a style he describes as “jazz from the saddle.”

Accompanied by Winnipeg’s finest folk and jazz musicians, Holler creates clever arrangements that are rich with virtuosity and style. In concert, Woody Holler and his Orchestra puts on a fun and fascinating show, featuring finger-snapping swing beats, honey-slowed love croons and show-stopping “extreme” yodeling.

In addition to Woody Holler’s performance, the Playhouse will present a special Experience More! activity on Thursday, February 11 at 6 p.m. Join us at the Hatheway Family Fitness Studio at the UNB Currie Center for a Foxtrot, Jive and Waltz Workshop with Headpond Dance Studio. Instructors James and Cynthia Boulter will teach the basics of these dance styles in a fun class. Registration is required through the Fredericton Playhouse box office.

Tickets for Woody Holler and his Orchestra are available through the Fredericton Playhouse box office by calling 458-8344, or online at www.theplayhouse.ca.
