Coming up on Friday, February 5 at 7:30 p.m. during Fredericton Frostival, Juno-nominated singer-songwriter Dave Gunning returns to the Fredericton Playhouse stage for a much-anticipated performance.

Hailing from Pictou County, N.S., Gunning is an East Coast mainstay known for writing authentic lyrics that grab audiences by the heart. With a repertoire that includes flavours of Irish, Scottish, folk and country music styles, Gunning easily transcends genre.

An ECMA-winning musician, Gunning has toured extensively to sold-out venues around the world. He has 11 albums to his credit, including his latest, 2015’s Lift. In 2014, Gunning was named the winner of CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Song Quest with the song “A Game Going On,” co-written with David Francey.

Gunning’s performance will fill your senses and touch your soul, thanks to his down-to-earth details, homespun humour and seasoned musicianship.

In addition to Gunning’s performance at the Playhouse, he will lead an Experience More! Songwriting Workshop on Saturday, February 6 at 10 a.m. at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre. Participants will have the opportunity to share their ideas and work on song development while interacting with Gunning and other songwriters in a creative setting. Participants are asked to bring a song they’re currently working on, and must pre-register through the Playhouse box office.

Tickets for Dave Gunning are available through the Fredericton Playhouse box office by calling 458-8344, or online at www.theplayhouse.ca.
