Coming to the Fredericton Playhouse on Saturday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m., Sweet Dreams: A Tribute to Patsy Cline, starring Leisa Way and the Wayward Wind Band, is a stunning celebration of one of the most influential vocalists of the 20th century.
In Sweet Dreams, Leisa Way delivers Cline’s greatest hits with a pure heart and breathtaking, honest vocals that thrill listeners. Backed by the four-piece Wayward Wind Band, you’ll be transported back in time as she performs songs like “Walkin’ After Midnight,” “Crazy” and “I Fall to Pieces.” Way’s brilliant performance has captured the hearts of both audiences and critics thanks to her unique ability to embody the spirit of Patsy Cline.
With a professional theatre career spanning more than 30 years, Leisa Way has travelled the world in leading roles in productions like Peter Pan, Grease, The Sound of Music and many more. She has also starred in a number of plays written by Fredericton’s own Norm Foster. She has been producing her own concerts since 2007, including Rhinestone Cowgirl, a Dolly Parton tribute that delighted Playhouse audiences in 2012.
The Playhouse is also offering a special Experience More! film screening in conjunction with this performance. Join us on Monday, October 5 at 7 p.m. for a free, non-ticketed screening of The Real Patsy Cline. Using archived footage and clips, this fascinating documentary tells the story of Patsy Cline’s rise to stardom, and her tragic death at the pinnacle of her career.
