On Friday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m., kick off the holiday season with Cherish the Ladies’ festive show, A Celtic Christmas at the Fredericton Playhouse.

Over the past 28 years, Cherish the Ladies has become one of the most engaging ensembles in the history of Irish music. Among the most successful and sought-after American groups in the Celtic music genre, Cherish the Ladies boasts a spectacular blend of virtuosi instrumental talents, stunning vocals, captivating arrangements and spectacular step-dancing.

Recognized as the first all-female traditional music and dance ensemble, this award-winning, trailblazing act features Joannie Madden on flute, whistle and vocals; Mary Coogan on guitar, mandolin and banjo; Mirella Murray on piano accordion; Grainne Murphy on fiddle; and Kathleen Boyle on piano.

During A Celtic Christmas, the group will be accompanied by a guest vocalist, Irish-American folk singer Cathie Ryan and guest fiddler Liz Knowles. Audiences will be treated to an evening of classic Christmas carols, highlighted by unique Celtic instrumentation, beautiful harmonies and world-class Irish step-dancing.
