From September 17 to 20, join the Fredericton Playhouse in a special venue for The Tale of a Town – New Brunswick. This unique, interactive performance will highlight the people, places and stories that make the downtown streets of our province special.

Theatre and media company FIXT POINT has been travelling around New Brunswick during the month of August, gathering stories through interviews with community stakeholders, local heroes, business owners and residents.

The result will be a one-of-a-kind theatrical presentation that will include sound bites, archives, music and memories. This original performance will take place in a downtown storefront, guaranteeing an intimate and memorable show that truly captures New Brunswick’s living memories of main streets and downtowns.

The Tale of a Town – New Brunswick will go on to become a piece of a larger oral history, as part of a multimedia performance of The Tale of a Town – Canada, preserving our stories and sharing them with the rest of the country for years to come.

FIXT POINT is still seeking stories about downtown Fredericton. Visit The Tale of a Town’s storymobile outside of the Fredericton Playhouse until Saturday, August 30 to share your memories. You can also call 1-855-CAN-TALE, or visit www.thetaleofatown.com any time to participate in the project.

The Tale of a Town – New Brunswick will be presented at 494 Queen St. from September 18-20 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee on September 20 at 2 p.m. There will also be a preview show on September 17 at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are available at www.theplayhouse.ca.
