The North American tour of GODSPELL, one of the biggest Broadway and off-Broadway successes of all time, is about to make a stop at The Fredericton Playhouse. Don’t miss out on this incredible musical experience during its two-night run on Tuesday, October 29 and Wednesday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Created by Stephen Schwartz, the Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer of Wicked, GODSPELL tells a timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love. With a Tony-nominated score that includes hits like “Day by Day,” “Light of the World” and “Turn Back Old Man,” this musical has raised the spirits and touched the hearts of countless theatregoers.

Featuring a professional ensemble cast of ten and a live band, GODSPELL is packed with a wide variety of musical styles. Featuring everything from rock and pop to R&B and ragtime, there’s something for every member of the family. Directed by David Hogan, GODSPELL features Jake Stern in the role of Jesus, and Graham Parkhurst as John the Baptist/Judas. The cast also includes Stacey Bulmer, Michael Hogeeven, Ivan Lo, Alessia Lupiano, Rebecca McCauley, Lisa Michelle, Janelle Murray, Michael de Rose and David Cotton.

Inspired by the hugely successful 2011 Broadway revival production, this is a brand new, intimate and one-of-a-kind production that adds innovative twists to the classic musical. This modernized version includes clever references to technology like Facebook and iPhones, and celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and Donald Trump. The cast even enters the audience and improvises, making for a spontaneous and involving atmosphere, and ensuring that no two shows are exactly alike.

Considered “a family-friendly show that deserves to run forever” by the Wall Street Journal, this show will lift you out of your seat and have you singing about love.

Tickets for Godspell are available at the Fredericton Playhouse box office 1-866-884-5800, or online at www.theplayhouse.ca.
