Gallery Connexion’s Annex Gallery invites you to the opening reception of What I saw before me by Patrick Allaby and Big Small Dreams by Jeffrey DeLong at the Playhouse at 686 Queen Street on Friday November 30th, 2012 from 5pm to 645pm.  Both exhibitions run until January 16th 2013.

What I saw before me is a selection of drawings by Patrick Allaby, which consist of images of the areas that the artist lives in.  Allaby is an emerging artist based in Fredericton, and is working on his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University in Sackville.

“I am interested in working in realism, portraying reality as I perceive it: however, I do not plan on working in a photorealistic manner.” Allaby said.

Big Small Dreams is a series of photographs by Jeffrey DeLong meant to evoke a feeling of isolation and loneliness.  DeLong a self-taught photographer lives and works in Saint John, New Brunswick.

“I am inherently drawn to these objects or changes in the urban or natural landscape perhaps to reflect my own thoughts or emotions at the time.”  DeLong said.

The Annex Gallery is an initiative between Gallery Connexion and the Fredericton Playhouse to provide a juried exhibition space for Gallery Connexion members and for the Playhouse to include programmed exhibition in it galleries.

The Annex Gallery is organized by a Gallery Connexion committee and facilitated by the Fredericton Playhouse.  For more information on how to become a member or volunteer, contact Candace Wilkins nnxgallery@gmail.com or John Cushnie (506) 454-1433 connex@nbnet.nb.ca.
