Our season opens on Friday, December 28 with the return of The Nearly World-Famous Dufflebag Theatre Company – this time with the popular and well-loved Christmas classic Rudolph (recommended for ages 5 and up). In the tradition of DuffleBag Theatre, audience members will be invited to participate in the excitement of creating something fresh and new out of something old and familiar. This seasonal favourite is a perfect way to collectively celebrate the holiday season!

On Sunday, February 24 get ready for some fun as Sursaut Dance Company stirs up some laughter with their curious characters in BOO! (recommended for ages 4-12). Articulate movement and playful partnering makes for an evening that will leave the whole family smiling!

In the spring, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia will bring the much–anticipated new production: A Brown Bear, a Moon, and a Caterpillar, to The Playhouse on Sunday, April 7 (recommended for ages 3-7) . This Mermaid production will bring together three of Eric Carle’s most beloved tales: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? and Papa Please Get The Moon For Me. The Los Angeles Times calls it “A quiet delight… brought to memorable life”.

Closing the Kidstage Series on Sunday, May 12 is the popular duo Sheesham & Lotus (recommended for ages 4 and up). This multi-instrumental show will captivate audiences of all ages with their old-time American music and dancing, and a little comedy on the side. Prepare to bring down the barn and be juked, jived and jitterbugged by a non-stop performance!

In addition to our upcoming Kidstage Series, The Playhouse also gave fredkid FAIR-goers a sneak peek at a very special presentation set to hit the stage on Wednesday, November 28.
