Break on through to the other side with The Doors and Classic Albums Live!

by on April 5, 2012

The Fredericton Playhouse Spotlight Series is pleased to present THE concert event for The Doors fans. Join us Thursday, April 19 at 7:30pm for another jaw-dropping performance by Classic Albums Live as they recreate LA Woman by legendary rock band The Doors.

L.A. Woman is the sixth and last studio album that The Doors recorded with lead singer Jim Morrison, who died in July 1971, and is arguably the most blues/rock oriented of the band’s catalog. In the decades since the Doors’ heyday, the foursome has loomed ever larger in the pantheon of rock, and they remain a touchstone of insurrectionary culture for writers, activists, visual artists and other creative communities. Their songs, featured in an ever-increasing number of films, TV shows, video games and remixes, always sound uncannily contemporary. No matter how the musical and cultural tides turn, The Doors will always be ready to help a new wave of listeners break on through to the other side…

Classic Albums Live takes classic albums and recreates them note for note and cut for cut. Founded in 2003 by Craig Martin, Classic Albums Live has become the ultimate experience for music lovers wanting to hear the greatest albums performed live without all the gimmickry and cheesy impersonations. Relying only on the music, and using what Martin refers to as “the world’s best musicians”, Classic Albums Live has defined itself as a mainstay in performing arts centers across North America.

Tickets for Classic Albums Live: L.A. Woman are available at the Fredericton Playhouse box office 1-866-884-5800, or online at www.theplayhouse.ca.
