A tribute to Joey Knight

by on May 11, 2011

The Fredericton Playhouse is deeply saddened by the recent death of Joey Knight. He was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His passion for singing and entertaining truly blessed his life. The proud son of a Minto coal miner, Joey Knight was one of the most friendly, charismatic entertainers that the music industry had to offer.  He possessed a sincere and unique quality that was instantly likeable.  Passion for what he did was evident both on and off the stage and, whenever on stage, his audience was sure to be captivated and entertained.

He is survived by loving wife Carolyn (McLean) Vautour; son, Jason (Catherine) their daughter, Chloe; daughter Stacey (Jamie); mother in law, Vivian McLellan; 1 sister; 5 brothers; and several nieces and nephews. He has touched so many lives with his warm personality and charismatic charm – his  purpose for living was to make everyone happy.

Well known for his compassion and willingness to help those in need, Joey always gave back to his community and surrounding areas by generously donating his time to perform at numerous benefits and charity concerts.  He was a remarkable and well respected individual, and his life and music will be celebrated in a special concert on May 28 at 7:30pm at The Fredericton Playhouse.

Join us for a musical tribute concert celebrating one of New Brunswick’s most popular and respected performing artists, and NB Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, Joey Knight.

Tickets for this special event are available through The Playhouse box office in person, by calling 458-8344, or online at www.theplayhouse.ca.
