Good Lovelies Open Onstage Series TONIGHT at The Playhouse

by on October 25, 2010

The Fredericton Playhouse is pleased to be presenting the first of our Onstage Series performances tonight as the Good Lovelies electrify in an intimate concert setting. Tonight and Wednesday night at 8pm, audiences will be treated to a beautifully warm and personal concert by this Juno Award-winning trio. Using the theatre as a backdrop, this component of our Spotlight Series introduces a highly intimate experience with some of Canada’s most exciting up-and-coming music artists.

Sharp, sassy, funny and building a following across Canada, the Good Lovelies are not your run-of-the-mill “all girl” band. At a time when economic gloom dominates the front page, these three women are the bright sunshine on a cloudy day. Armed with a pile of instruments, a repertoire of sassy and sophisticated songs and an effervescent sense of humour, the girls never fail to charm even the toughest audiences. The aptly named Good Lovelies are Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough and Sue Passmore, all of them best friends and refugees from solo careers. Described as “flirty-bluegrass” and the “mischievous Andrews Sisters”, the Toronto-based trio rely on unerring three-part vocal harmonies, clever songs, and convulsively funny banter.

Tickets for the Good Lovelies’ October 25th and 27th performances are on sale now at the Fredericton Playhouse box office. For tickets call 1-866-884-5800, visit us in person, or visit www.theplayhouse.ca.
