THE WORKSHOP:
Focusing on class room style instruction and round table discussions, the entire workshop will be conducted onstage at the Fredericton Playhouse with a typical live working sound system so that participants can be shown and taught on the actual equipment. It will include a hands-on session at the end of the week with a live music demonstration.
Topics that you will learn about include: sound & basic acoustic principles; sound “lingo”; sound system components including: microphones, mixers, amplifiers, speakers, equalizers, effects processors crossovers and dynamic processors; how to build sound systems from the ground up; how to get the greatest quality sound from the resources at hand; and even some maintenance tips to keep your gear in performance condition.
